This is my fifth pair of Merrell shoes. In my opinion, for the quality and value for the money, Merrell is one of the best specialty shoe companies out there. I read the other reviews where some people had problems with the heel counter digging into their Achilles tendon area and causing blisters. I've had these shoes for about two weeks now and have had absolutely no problems like that. These felt great right out of the box and took a few times putting them on to get used to the snug fitting neoprene, but they fit like a glove. They are very, very comfortable. I took about a twenty mile hike in them after the first week and they felt like they were part of my feet. Lightweight, supportive enough for light hiking and great grip. The mesh uppers are very breathable as well. Just as a side note: I wear a 10 in most Merrell shoes and these were a 10 but felt just a tad larger but that should leave room for swelling feet or thicker socks. I would say on some feet they may run a half size larger. I think most people will fall in love with them though. Keep up the good work Merrell.
